Boot color/tights color with tartan skirt

Yes, brown IS best and would look great, but the black will be good, too.

The fact is, I like brown best with earth tones, and the tatrtan is mostly that.

As to those thigh-high socks: when do we get pictures?

Brown for sure - my wife, who is 5' 10" tall, and very slim and fit (she's also a Marine!), wears various shades of brown boots with her Robertson (her maiden name) tartan kilted skirts all the time and the ensemble always look quite elegant and hip! My wife also wears argyle style stockings or leggings in various solid colours - a nice, subtle touch, that adds a bit of 'Scottishness.'

I suggested the mustard tights to complement the yellow stripe in the tartan... But all the suggestions here are good, and I don't see why you'd have to restrict yourself to just a single look. Seems like you won't be lacking for ideas and different ways to wear your new skirt. :-)

I do feel a little bit of buyers remorse for buying lilac socks when I could have really used white or black. BUT it was free shipping and only $10 so we'll see how much I love them. If I love them, no problem. If I dont love them, I can always return them

I think I will be on the prowl today for some nice black boots. I already have my brown ones. Glad to see ost of you like the idea with brown boots...I wasnt too sure if they would go well or not. It just kinda depends. I will try them on when my skirt arrives
