Re: Advice
This thread brought back memories I have not thought of for years.
Fifty years ago I wore a little tartan kilt to Kirk and Sunday School each week. I don't remeber any comments on it except that with my skinny little boy hips it would not stay up when we went out to play in the Chuch Yard so my mother sewed on some matching tartan suspenders. The other boys teased me unmercifully about the suspenders. i don't remember any comment about the kilt.

Re: Advice
I feel for you. My wife is chinese and is very concerend about what other might think. Especialy othe asians. My son (10) wanted to wear one for school on St. Paddy's day last year. He did and yes there were those who made fun. I had to walk him to school in my kilt cause he was a little nervious. But When a girl asked him about wearing a skirt he proudly replied "It's a kilt, a part of my heritage." then another girl in his class said, "I like it!" I talked to my son before and told him everything kids would say, and how to respond. He had no problems, and wanted to wear it more often to school. So talk to your kid let him know what will happen, and if he still wants one get it for him.
