I disagree, Richard. First, there is no yellow stripe in the hose at all. Second, the dark color in the hose appears to be black, not navy blue, as in the tie. (Admittedly it can sometimes be difficult to distinguish the two in photographs).
Moreover the arrangement of the colors in the hose is not the same as in the regimental tie.
The colors of his Ross Hunting tartan, however, are green, red and black, so I think it more likely that was the inspiration for the hose.

Hard to say what they're meant to coordinate with. What is for sure, though, is that they look nice with his Ross kilt AND his Cameron Highlanders tie.

The green is indeed bluish in colour, actually more like a teal. I own the same (Cameron Highlanders) necktie, made by Ben Silver.
