You also might check out the DVDs, "Clans of Scotland", presented by Paul Murton. It contains exciting/interesting stories/legends of 12 of the most influential historic clans. The reivers are covered under the episode on Clan Armstrong.

Paul Murton is brilliant though the clan detail is limited to certain individuals rather than a survey of an entire clan history.

You are correct. They are definitely not comprehensive, or with all the legendary stuff, even particularly accurate history, but they sure are fun!
They make me want to kilt up and go charging down a mountainside waving my claymore to terrorize the tourists, ... or make them laugh.

These are such great photos, and the costumes are all fabulous. I especially liked seeing the hobby horse and the fife and drum group. I played in a US civil war-esque fife and drum group when I was in high school.

Nice photos, Alex.
I see the musician on the right, is playing a Hurdy-Gurdy. Must have been an enjoyable group to listen to. of them playing?
