Thank you all for the very informative replies. However, I must reveal my ignorance - google showed me in MOD sporran but what does MOD stand for?

Ministry of Defense, UK equivalent to our Dept of Defense. So MOD is used to describe ex-military (or military style) cantle.

I suppose it depends on the context, but to me MOD means, Ministry of Defence(UK).

Don't worry guys, I won't repost the horse hair sporran on a Utilikilt - honest! I like the full mask and other hair sporrans, put would be real conserned about their ability to take the day to day beating without getting bald spots etc. Cleaning would also be an issue. My "very casual" is digging in the garden, cutting grass etc. - generally, sweating like a pig in the heat and dust. Anything to keep my rump off the sofa.

Pants is only a present tense verb here. I once panted, but it's all cool now.

Where I live, a full mask -- or merely fur -- sporran worn in public might get the wearer lynched. . .
I have a full mask silver fox by Craigie and a beaver fur Glengyle from Ferguson Britt. I never wear the former and VERY rarely wear the latter as I don't want to find myself having to injure someone.
