so you are back in Toronto? Welcome back to the "west"...hope all went well. Not to derail this thread too much further, but when are you expected to defend your dissertation? Sooner or later?

Just to be sure I return this to the topic...I was able to vote a few more times for the most dashing Canadien Man;-)

Thanks for the welcome AND for the votes At this point in my degree, everything is done except writing the dissertation... in and of itself, that will be no mean feat, but it can't be harder than learning Chinese I'm planning to defend next summer, so if anyone actually wants to hire a kilted guy with a PhD in ethnomusicology and an MA in digital music composition, I'll be available in the Fall of 2013

Ethnomusicology sounds serious. Is it curable?

It says that you can vote for each entry once per day so it this not the case?

    I voted today though!

Sadly no, it's a chronic condition, but it can be controlled with meds and the sufferer can lead a near-normal life

I do! Mostly because it would mean that I had an obscene amount of disposable income. I know people who hire nannies for their kids and housekeepers for their house(s), but I could make them ALL eat their livers by having my very own Kilted Digitally Composing Ethnomusicologist (much better than the DiComposing Ethnomusicologist I found in the woods...). And you'd be from Canada. How exotic!

Going to vote now on my laptop and my phone and run around to everyone's computer at work and see if I can figure out their passwords. That's a potential 35 votes. Good Luck.

Something I missed the first time: You can vote once per day! I'll try to make it part of my morning routine.

Guess what I discovered last night!

If there are multiple people in your household, you can vote using Google Chrome, and then still vote again with Safari or Firefox!

As OC Richard wrote, there is no cure... not that I would want one anyway, because despite the seriousness of my ethnomusicological condition, people like LitTrog might actually hire me. If only to make the neighbours jealous and contingent on being obscenely rich, but still

    That's the spirit Chas!

The situation is not as dire as it seems because there are three finalists for online submissions but another three from each of the three in-store kiosks, for a total of 15. This initial cut will be made based on popular vote and the final decision is made by judges.

Right now, I'm at 76 and the third spot for online submissions is at 332, which is much more manageable. It would, however, be even better to have the highest overall number of votes, so keep on clicking, folks!
