He goes to a lot of special occasions Jock.

Either that, or every occasion is as special as one wishes to make it.

That's usually how I view it anyway.

Sometimes one can log on to X Marks, read a bunch of threads, and say, "Wow, all these people ever talk about are kilts! Don't they get tired of it?"

Then one must remind oneself that this is a kilt forum which exists precisely for the purpose of giving people a place to talk with other interested individuals about kilts.

I actually spend the greater portion of my time thinking about things other than tartan and kilts. I suspect most of the other members are the same.

There is a wealth of learning in considering the opinions of those with whom I do not necessarily agree -- both about them and about myself.
    I couldn't agree more, David.

Hard to tell, John. Let's certainly hope not! I will commend many of my fellow Xmarkers on their responses though; very tactful, mature and polite. I applaud you!

Ugh...I'm off for a pint, care to join?

I have not yet had the pleasure of meeting Hammish in person, but from what I've seen here, I'd lay odds that any occasion with him is indeed special.

Pants is only a present tense verb here. I once panted, but it's all cool now.

I saw a very religious person in a national sandwich store recently and showed him and his daughter pictures of me and my daughter at the SMHG. He replied that I was wearing a dress! Please show me a picture of his savior wearing pants. I rest my case. I have two red headed kids and two toeheads. When my daughter was in Scotland (with her natural red hair) everyone wanted to know which part of Scotland she was from? I believe that we are all connected in some way. best regards Mattie
