Testing a few kilt looks, need opinions

Somewhat the odd man out here, but I have to say #1 would be my preference. The low sock look is more casual. I do agree about losing the sporran chain and getting something more casual. Of course, I am also in Florida and rarely wear anything but sandals with all my kilts unless I am going formal so I am very used to the "bare leg" look

Its difficult to tell from the angle of the shots, but I would also say hike up the kilt about another inch. The fell (the line where the sewing of the pleats ends) looks a bit low on ya.

It may be my eyes, but the length of the fell overall looks too long in proportion to the overall length of the kilt. However, you appear to have very little difference between waist and hips measurement (i.e. no butt to speak of!), so it may just be that.

For a good sporran belt, I would recommend one from Robert at RKilts. Great guy, and his sporran belts are nice, and reasonable. You can also "re-purpose" other thin leather belts/straps from other clothing items.

Lol, yes i have no ****. Also, i lost a good two plus inches in the seat and the waist between the time i ordered from Rocky and the 2 weeks until i got my kilt and since then lost even more. Im about as tight as i can go without moving the velcro more inward. Proper diet and lots of exercise, no bread, pasta, refined sugar, and no garbage food of any sort if anyone was wondering. Easy as this time of the year there's plenty of veggies.

Also to Ranza, im from Whidbey island. Born and raised Washingtonian.

I got my next kilt from USAKILTS in Scott weathered Green and did the waist a couple inches less. less hope that was the only issue or that i dont lose any more luggage in my ****.

If you would like my two cents

I like your first outfit far better than any of the others. It is what is, a casual, comfortable, fun, and proud ensemble great for a pub crawl. The only thing about it that looks wrong to me is the chain for the sporran (which Rob and others have already commented on). Your waist plate works for me just fine in the first outfit (though none of the others).

That first outfit seems to me to be more "true to itself". For what it is worth, that first outfit is the one that I would wear given the choice between all the outfits you have presented us, and I would wear (minus the chain) without hesitation or reservation.

I like the boots in Pic #1, might go well with the #2 Pic...Looks like a consensus on the belt buckle, the only other thing I would do, is shrink the shirts or gain some weight!

Any of these look really cool but wear the proper hose. The buckle is fine for a casual event. Enjoy the evening.

This is my favourite! While all your "looks" look fine to me, for some reason this one looks the most "pulled together" for me.

Makes me want to pull out my pipes and play Flower Of Scotland!!!

Your outfit sure beats the one I wore to the last Scotland Rugby match I attended
