When will you be getting your custom tailored shirt? I can't wait to see it!
All the best,

Well, honestly, buying Walmart shirts will get you Walmart quality. Which is to say, it will look generally like a shirt but won't please you near as much as a well-made one. I guess my point was that tattersal shirts are pretty commonly found anywhere that collared shirts are sold. You may just never have noticed them before if you weren't looking for them.
Don't worry, I'll be posting a review of my custom shirt when it comes in. This is my first foray into true custom tailoring (made to measure). It's expensive, but I think it's the way I'm going to move forward for my office attire and kilted attire. I would actually like my clothes to fit me and flatter my figure, so it's worth the money.

Depending on the area, thrift stores can yield amazing results. The tweed jacket conversion threads show a lot of nice jackets out there for bargain prices. I've tried on some great Harris tweeds this month, but nothing my size yet. Lots of 38-44s I'm looking for a 48. Highest price was $20, most are $10 or less. Yesterday I bought a like-new Royal Stewart Façonnable shirt for $4.55. They retail for $125. I saw many, many tattersall shirts as well. Nothing more than $6.99. It's a hunt to find your size, but when you are successful, it's great.

It is expensive going this route I agree, but once you do, you will never be disappointed. The whole "less is more" and "quality over quantity" ideals defintely come into play with bespoke items, especially in regards to traditional Highland attire. Honestly, I wouldn't have it any other way. I am looking forward to your thread regarding your bespoke shirt, Tobus.
Cheers,

+2! Am I allowed to do that? In any case I couldn't agree more wholeheartedly.

I certainly don't object, Lime! Apparently, I am the "*** King" on XMTS, therefore a +2 surely is acceptable. Hahaha!
