    I have spent some of my life from time to time, lurking just over the Welsh border in England and it was not unusual to see the daffodil(even leeks) being worn on St David's Day by those with Welsh connections. I did wonder if the parade in Cardiff was a new idea.

    Yes Jock, as Trefor has already mentioned, the parade is still a fairly new event. And yes, on St Davids Day daffodils can be seen everywhere (and leeks). Here is a pic from last fri of a daffodil and welsh dragon. Also Elaine always puts out Daffodils on the kitchen table .. so do our neighbours and friends ... we even used to get a half day at school on St Davids Day. Not sure if that is the case nowadays.
