Yeah, I'm coming around to "Kiltnesday." Although I wonder if we should spell "Kilterday" as "Kilturday." Where is a middle English specialist when you need one?

You and me, brother Jock. I don't need a name for it. I just strap the thing on and go about my business.
If people ask, I usually say something about ..."Well, I own it, and it doesn't do me any good sitting in my closet."

I have the same response as knotty, when one specifically asks about "what day/event/occurrence" for why I am kilted, i.e. "it's Tuesday". If they ask more generally ("why are you wearing the kilt?"), I respond with "because the police frown on it if your genitals are exposed in public".
To have a name for wearing the kilt (kilting up, kilterday, what have you) defeats the push to make kilts just everyday wear here in the States, and not some sort of costume, in my opinion.

Why? I only wear it on days ending in 'Y.'

When I get asked if I'm wearing my kilt for a special occasion, I tell the person "Yep, I woke up this morning". Then I tell them it's no more special than if I had decided to wear pants.

I have always liked the word that someone gave me up the Scott Monument in Edinburgh - "Kiltie".
