"Sweet By and By" and "Brown-Haired Maid". Turpin liked brown-haired maids...
...and black-haired ones, and red-haired ones, and blond-haired ones...

What a beautiful day! Went down the hill to practice on the middle school football field and ended my usual run through of the parade sets with Flowers of the Forest and Amazing Grace in honor of Turpin.

I am new to piping and just got my bagpipes two weeks ago and played one song, which is all I have the wind for at this time.

Haven't played in a while but I dug out the fiddle and contributed
a slowed version of Jay Unger's Ashokan Farewell followed by St. Anne's Reel.
Like most here, I never met Turpin but remember his contributions in earlier days.
He will be missed.

I'm not a musician, so I dug out one of my CDs a few minutes ago and played "Caledonia" as sung by my friend Peter Daldry.

I don't think of myself as a musician, but I enjoy music, so this morning between 9:45EDT and 10.00
I sat with my guitar; not knowing his choices, and being fairly limited, I went with "Amazing Grace", "In
the Garden", and "Softly and Tenderly". Moved to an a capella version of "Precious Lord", and closed with
"Going Home".

I played Flowers of the Forest, Highland Cathedral, Scotland the Brave and Wings @ 2:30 pm EST US yesterday at the lake. Save a place for us, Turpin.
Only 9 notes. How hard could it be?
