I'm in the NO category for outwardly visible pockets. I just dislike the way it destroys the line of the kilt.
I could certainly get behind the idea of hidden pockets like Freedom Kilts offers.
That said, I only have traditional construction kilts at the moment, and don't find the lack of pockets that problematic.
I guess part of the issue is that unless I'm wearing some form of cargo pants/shorts I don't keep anything in the pockets anyway. Using rear pockets is TERRIBLE for your back if you ever sit (no George Costanza wallets back there, please)
and I dislike the feel of things in my front pockets.
A sporran is perfect for my needs.

Depends on the day. I have three kilts, 1 with cargos, 1 freedom kilt w hidden pockets, and 1 with no pockets. I love all them.

I don't [yet] own a Freedom Kilt with slash pockets. I think I may be afraid that I'll become spoiled with them and no longer appreciate the rest of my traditional kilts. All joking aside, I think having hidden pockets on the kilt would be a nice additional touch and I welcome them with open arms.

I want pockets with storm flaps in the rear and I like side slash pockets. The only sporran I like is the one that comes from Amerikilts because it blends in so well.

I've got kilts with and without em'. I do like pockets when in casual dress but wouldn't want em' in my traditional kilts.

I have a couple of RKilts with slash pockets (no cargo pockets). My traditional kilts are just that - traditional -and don't have pockets. I find the pockets really practical but it is highly unlikely that I would order a tartan kilt with pockets.

I'm not big on pockets w/ a tartan unless they're the hidden slash pockets like what Freedom Kilts does with theirs. For the modern kilts with different fabrics, I don't mind the cargo pockets and such.
I voted for the pockets because having them would be nice for things you want easier access to than opening and closing the sporran all the time, or for keeping things more secure, but I'm just as fine not having any pockets as I would having them.

Let's see now...
I have traditional kilts without pockets.
I have a traditional-looking kilt which does have slash pockets - although no one notices until I put my hands in them.
I have my 5.11 TDK which has both slash pockets and cargo pockets.
I love all the styles -- can't say whether with or without pockets is better.
Note, some of my kilts do have an apron pocket small/large enough for ID and CC but not much else.
So, I vote 'C' - both

As much as I like the pockets in terms of potential functionality and whatnot, they're just not for me.
