Oy! The post man came by with the parcel containing the "Tartan that shall not be named" today and due to a snafu somewhere along the way, because the box didn't have my apartment number on it (not sure if my error or an error on the USAKilts end), it went back to the Postal Office, and I am hoping that by calling them, they will send it back out to me tomorrow, otherwise it is getting sent back to Rocky and the gang at USAKilts....where I will have to call them and straighten it out and have it shipped AGAIN....uggh the jonesing doesn't stop....I am about to go MAD

There was a thump at the front door and when I checked, a box was waiting. Are those wisps of fog coming from the edges? My cat doesn't want to get near it...she who typically investigates every new item that enters. I think I'll wait until Bob gets home to open it.

The box was opened with no harm to man nor beast.
My LYS* doesn't carry Gutermann thread but I've matched up some Coats & Clark Dual Duty XP numbers. Anybody who thinks they have a better match (perhaps your LYS ordered in the special HPLovecraft collection for Halloween?) please feel free to contribute, as well as anybody who has Gutermann numbers to throw in the mix.
Dark green 6790 ("Dark Spinach" -- don't tell me the Great Old One has gone vegan? )
Light green 6850
Purple 3250
The light green and purple seem brighter than the tartan but I think it is like seeing high-gloss and eggshell finishes in the same paint color. At least they are as close as I could get, given the selection and my eye for color.
Hope this helps!

The postman was rather eager to leave the parcel at my address. And upon inspection, I realized the box contained not only madness, but a lovely tartan, the likes of which Cthulhu himself would be proud. The jonesing is over...now the insanity begins.

Received letter Saturday from US Customs to declare formal entry for the cloth. I faxed it to our Customs Brokerage firm this morning. Not sure how long it will take to clear (customs may be closed today for Columbus Day), but it's moving forward. Next step will be for the cloth to exit customs and arrive (usually arrives within 48 hours of exiting customs). As soon as it arrives, we'll divvy up the cloth and ship it out the same day.

Thanks for taking this on Rocky.
Sydnie, I am such a tartan geek that I was at Joann's fabric store today and had to look up the colors of your thread. I don't even know what i am going to make with mine yet. I am leaning towards a pirate type coat.
But looking at the thread I get ideas.......

That's funny, Tess. I'll admit I looked through the Halloween fabrics, hoping a suitable lining would jump out at me (so to speak). But ghosts and goblins don't hold a candle. . . there are some possibilities over on etsy.

I still need to order the proof, but I might have JUST the thing...

Woo-hoo my table is waiting for the incoming 5 yards. Now to decide on whether I want to make 1 knife pleat kilt or two box pleat kilts each pleated differently.
