When we pleat up our 5 yard kilts, we try not to let the pleats go over 1.1" wide (unless the customer specifically requests it and we make note of the request releasing us from blame). Since the outer 2 purple stripes are about 1.5" apart, the option was to either pleat it to the CENTER stripe (omitting the outer 2) OR cocking it slightly one way to pleat to 2 of the 3 (omitting only 1). I mocked it up both ways and preferred this way, so that's how we're pleating it.

Yes. We're pleating it to the "Half Sett" as it's an ABAC tartan, but it is working perfectly. Just like the photo we posted...
