It's awful.
Looks like a sort of faux tartan that you'd expect a designer label to line coats/jackets with.
Yuck.

Artist and tartan are not two words that are too often natural bed fellows and this is a case in point. I'm in the 'yuk' camp.
Not sure why this and the previous thread aren't in the tartan section?

Calgacus, I think her skirt might be linen, which always looks a bit like that.

Very diplomatic there
I'd like to see her try to button that jacket up after a few Babychams.

Agreed on this score, although I'm not in the 'yuk' camp. Orange, green and light blue seems a pleasing combination to my eye. Admittedly I like the way it looks on underside thanks to the helpful shadow, more than the washed out full sun exposure look, but I hardly think it qualifies as ugly.

After reading this I needed to stop laughing. The color is fine for females, but I think its a little on the light side.

Agreed. Definitely not ugly by any means, but to each their own.

I considered putting this thread in the tartan section, but as the previous thread (which I did not start) was here, I figured someone browsing this sub-section would have a better chance of seeing the two threads and relate them to one another, than if they appeared in two separate sections. Me, I check the "new posts" link every day, catching threads from all the sub-sections. But there are likely those members who pick a particular sub-section and browse through the list of messages in that section.
If the mods would like to move this thread to the tartan section, please do, since the opening message here does contain a link to the old thread.

I'll pass on this tartan. It's a shame really, I was hoping for something a bit.......more earthy, or just....more.

Wow, tough crowd!
I happen to agree that it's not something I'd want to wear in a kilt. It does have a rather pastel/feminine look to it. But I doubt they created it solely for the purpose of men wearing kilts of this fabric. We obviously tend to think of kilts first and foremost here on this site, but there are plenty of other places where this tartan might look great. As a tablecloth, or curtains, or a shawl, for example. It might even look good as upholstery for certain furniture. It needn't be a good kilting tartan to be meaningful or popular for other uses.
While it may not be my cup of tea, I'm sort of glad that they did some "outside the box" thinking and didn't try to make it look like a traditional clan tartan. At least this one will be uniquely theirs, and I hope they are successful in making it a popular symbol for their area.
