Portland Highland Games - July 18th & 19th 2014
Well, it's that time again, so be at the Mt Hood Community College in Gresham Oregon for the Portland Highland Games on the 18th and 19th of July, 2014.
So, XMTS Community, who's going to attend this year, and in what capacity? Where will we have a meet-up during the games? Sound off and let's get "ready to rumble.....kilted!"

( also - let's use this thread to coordinate a meet up and a stepping stone for photo threads of all the many activities in these two days at the Games...)

Planning to attend Saturday, the 19th, to be a spectator. Should be five of us from Salem: wife, two sons and a dau-in-law. Hoping to meet some X-Markers.
Easy to find Victoria and Capt Mac in the MacKenzie tent.

We're going on Saturday and will probably stay most of the day. I'm crossing my fingers for cool and cloudy weather.

Clan MacKenzie will be setting up the tent early on Friday morning. CaptMac will be competing in the Drum Major Competition on Saturday. Stop by the tent and give us a shout out.

Just because you are paranoid doesn't mean they aren't out to get you.

Clan Young will also be represented at the Games. Space 29. Visitors welcome. Visitors bearing food very welcome!
Studies have shown that women who gain a few pounds live longer than men who mention it.

Hi!
I am totally new here and love the Scottish culture...of course the kilts are amazing I also play Ukulele and was thinking of going up to Redmond, Oregon for a Uke festival July 18-21. Is Gresham anywhere near Redmond. This will be my fist time in OR. It would be great to check out the Highland Games as well!
Thanks!

heh, no, Gresham is nowhere near Redmond. Gresham is tacked on to the east end of Portland. Redmond is a bit shy of three hours from here, just north of Bend.

Thanks, Bob!
Yeah...I just googled it...maybe a bit too far for a weekend trip. Maybe I will visit Portland this summer and wait for the Albuquerque Uke fest in the fall.
Cheers!
