Welcome to the addiction. Unfotunately I have found it is not the kilts themselves that break the bank, but all the acessories, jackets, etc. Once your kilt kit is well-rounded, having lots of kilts to mix and match is overall a good thing.

Just wear them with pride and all will be well if you are happy.

well I have traded the shoes to a bloke on this forum for a sporran he will make . I don't get dressed up as I don't go to places that would require that so the jacket I got with my kilt im selling its mint and %100 wool £50 so if that sells its reduced the cost of the kilt . I have purchased 2 kilt pin but as I buy second hand I now have 4 pins I did purchase my first sporran but got 1 with a kilt and then I purchased a 1926 horse hair military one that's now my favourite . So now im trying to get a current army horse hair ex military again. So im trying to keep the cost down but as you say you need a few so your not out in the same one every time then you need different sporrans for the same reason.

But unless its a bargain im not getting any more accessories I'll most likely get stuff with kilts any way . But I keep seeing tartans I really like, However the only ones that fit me are not these kilts so I just end up getting what fits me.

My favourite kilt so far is a Cameron Highlanders kilt I've seen but its way to small for me. Its hands down the nicest one ive seen so far, so this is my holly grail now and the number 1 kilt im looking for

I had been on the look out for an Ex army Blackwatch for about 6 months with no luck in getting 1 my size. So as I wanted it for a bike show im Doing in Edinburgh on the 9th an 10th and want every one to be kilted for the show and could see me ending up with out 1 I just got what ever would fit me .I got a flower of Scotland a kilt almost 5" to big and made it smaller as I could se time running out. Ive look on the net 2 or 3 times a day scanning all kind of places on the look out for my blackwatch. well ive ended up with a few from a car boot a few from a lady selling her grandfathers kilts and a few I got from the MOD and a couple from E bay I liked the look of like the Hunting pride of Scotland.

Some I cant keep as they are to small but it was a get them all or don't them at all like the 5 I hade last Friday only 1 will fit me the rest are to small so I will have to pass them on, like the jacket I had to get with my first kilt that I will never have on .

any way I've only been using them for 6 weeks now and this is my collection of kilts My kids say ive gone Kilt crazy what do you think . LOL

What's the tartan.....very bottom right (next to what appears to be Hunting McLean)?

right of the green Mclean hunting is a MacLauchlan Ancient it was an adult kilt 30" with a 24 drop but I turned it up about 5" and took it in a bit and moved the straps so it would fit my 11 Year old son its a mid weight kilt coming in at about 1.2 kg . I dint what to loos the weight so that's why I didn't cut the cloth when making it smaller. Its a nice kilt id like to get one in the same in my size. I fined I don't get what I like I get what will fit.
