I took my information from the website tartans.scotland.net: http://tartans.scotland.net/tartan_i...an_id=1285.htm
They do seem to be at loggerheads with the tartan register. They correctly list Stewart Hunting as a general tartan whereas the tartan register classes it as a clan/family tartan. I've always known it to be a universal tartan that anyone can wear.
