I remember spit shining those ever day when I was at bragg. We had to hold them up and our platoon sgt would come behind us and hold so many fingers and told us to count. If it was wrong, we had to keep polishing. Seeing those brought back memories.

Corcoran jump boots are FABULOUS with a kilt, but mine are a little less shiny.
It's also tough to go wrong with 8 or 10 eye Docs.
I'm a big fan of Palladium boots and kilts.
Basic black tactical boots are another good looking choice. These are Danners but the various leather/cordura boots out there look pretty similar.

I like your friend on the unicycle with sandles. I live in Keens Sandals and to be honest have not worn shoes in over a year. But do Keens and over the calf socks work?

I'd give that one a resounding NO. ;)

I have a very old and much loved pair of Docs that were originally 10 eye that I cut down to 5 eyes and restitched the top edge.
Now they break right over the top of the ankle bone, which I think is a very versatile height for kilt wear. They look good with hose up or down.
With higher boots like my 8 eye Docs I usually wear my hose scrunched down.

Ratspike, I've never seen those Palladium boots before, but I LIKE THEM! They look like beefed-up Chuck Taylors...
I have many/various pairs & types of combat boots, from Corcorans, to Danners, to black leather "Croot" boots (the old black leather standard issue boots) to various desert boots...They all look good with my kilts, according to my S.O. whom I rely on for fashion sense, having none of my own to speak of...

I know, right? I always forget about Palladium when I'm looking for a new pair of boots, and remember again right after I've already bought something else. I bet they'd be even cooler if you hit them with a couple coats of beeswax, but I'm a real sucker for waxed canvas anything.
