Yes Graham, but has the Hamish with his back to the camera removed it from his sock and tucked it in behind the buckle, which is visible near his right hand? He certainly looks as if he is about to go for a quick draw. Perhaps all these 4 (or is it 40) Hamishes aren't as friendly towards each other as they should be.
Rob (Of whom there is only one. Own up the person who said "thank goodness for that".)

Vince,
If I'm not mistaken, that's a denim kilt. Much harder for a chain to hurt denim than wool.

Wow! What a response! Many thanks chaps - keep them coming.....
Yes Vince, those ARE chain straps on the sporrans. As you are aware, I prefer plain straps - except for very formal Evening Dress wear - but, in this instance I could not say anything to the supplier. Both sporrans were delivered later than the matching kilts, due to delays at the manufacturers (they are leather sporrans, by the way, faced with fabric). I had ordered just the Camo sporran, with a plain strap, but the supplier kindly made a gift to me of the denim one which does not even feature in anyone's catalogue! I mean, after that how could I complain?!! However, on seeing the photographs, the supplier has realised that I was sent chain straps, and has contacted me to insist that plain straps will be provided. I have agreed to collect them when I am in Edinburgh in September.
