Wow. The lighting sure makes a big difference, eh?

Still a lot of decisions to make.

But big thanks to everybody so far. And to DixieCat who provided a local classified for a ML kilt that is close to my size!
If everything works out with that I may have a great quality second hand one.

Also, I am still waiting to hear back from the Gaelic College, and I shall look into the other shops mentioned by DixieCat.

A hundred thousands thanks to you all!

A bit late to the party on this, but we also have another source for the Maple Leaf in 16 oz which comes out a little more muted than the others... from a snowstorm a few years ago:

You're welcome! I don't want to post the link here yet as I wanted you to have a fighting chance. If it doesn't pan out for you, go ahead and post it. Perhaps someone else might want to bite.

    Good luck!

The retailer your thinking of in Halifax is actually in Darthmouth they are called L & M Highland.
but you will not get a fuzzy welcome from the staff if your not Military, Police or Fire. This seems to be the only market there interested in. I have been there a few times there never open on Saturday and I got the discussion that I was wasting there time. Talk to MacIsaac Kiltmakers great people and very professional I had them do some work on my Mapleleaf. Give the a call they will talk your ear off.

Luckily I am in the Military, but this wouldn't be for military duty as it were.
And if I'm ever in a market for a great quality new kilt these people will be the ones to talk to. But alas, my comfort zone for spending on clothing isn't quite there....yet. ;)
I was quoted by MacIcaac's for a Nova Scotia tartan and, I believe I had posted that already, much more than I was comfortable paying.

And once again, never disappointed with the help for the XMarks gang!
    Cheers to you all!

Yes, that is Batleys cloth. I am actually thinking of selling the kilt as I don't wear it as much anymore and want to find a good home for it.

40 X 44 X 24. Looking for $300 for it. It's a gently used Premier 8 yard kilt with a linen lining (made by me). Retail price would be roughly $595 if it were new.
