Yes not often seen, a wonderful vintage look that compliments most any kilt I would think.

As far as other accessories, my mind's-eye sees a nice vintage-looking brown sporran being worn with it, maybe something like this

I agree on the sporrans , lovely examples . Especially # 16 and 17 , I would love to have Artificer custom make one these some day .

Hegy Rebel ! Yes , I plan to wear them unless the temp jumps up to 80 like it did today . The jacket and waistcoat are made from some fairly heavy tweed , definitely made for highland weather .

Not to create a tangent, but, is it complimentary to have jacket/waistcoat combinations that aren't exactly matched?

It was very common to wear buff, yellow, or red waistcoats with tweed jackets.
