Seamus I made a mistake or two in measuring my first kilt, but the last two from Rocky could not be tailored better if I HAD gone into a shop and been measured.
I just take three simple figures, waist at navel, width of backside and length from navel to centre kneecap.
The only proble I have is that the first measurement keeps changing, bigger in winter, smaller in summer

Graham as for the womens comment be generous and give the benifit of the doubt and just think she was trying to be helpfull and let it go.and as to your latest response to seamus. It sounds like your summer/winter dillema means you will need a summer and winter kilt of each type you have just get out the check book .
Take it easy

Its funny, my wife is worried that people in our town will mitake me for being gay or some sort of pervert and will try to kick the s##t out of me. I plan to take the dogs for a walk straight down the main street one day and will see what happens. Andrew

OH YES!
Here's a breakdown of some of the more noticable differences in ALL the kilts:
Front Apron is now tapered and wider from 1 year ago.
Pleats are MUCH deeper due to better tartan sources.
Hips are tapered better with the sew-down.
Thread is better from a better source.
The machinery in the shop is MUCH better.
All in all, there's really no comparison from one year ago.

Being a female jogger, I'm guessing that she probably hears similar things all the time. "Watch out, there are some thugs over there!" "Watch out, Rocky's hiding in those bushes!" Etc...
Hey Rufus... you weren't supposed to TELL that I was in the bushes... HAHAHAHAH
Hey Seamus... If you CAN, bring the kilt into the shop. I'd love to hold it up side by side to a new kilt. We re-designed a lot of aspects... you live and you learn. After changing 1 last detail on our "philabeg model" recently, our designs are pretty much nailed down and solid. We've finally made them fit like a glove (ask Graham or Richard... he has like 5 or 6 of them).
Hey Murphy... you're just down the road from us. Let me know if you're going to come up to the King Of Prussia area and we'll meet up for a beer!
