Light bulb moment?

Not so much a "lightbulb moment", but my opinions and tastes evolved over time after seeing multiple images of Jock and others. Specifically, the tattersall shirt and / or tweeds with windowpane patterns. I was originally VERY opposed to the idea of either of those things, but they have since grown on me to where I generally prefer them. I may still be a bit 'matchy matchy', wear matching flashes and like my ghillie brogues, but everyone's allowed a bit of personal taste in their outfit, yes?

1. Many of the posters are no longer active, and unfortunately many of the photos have expired.
2. I discovered most of the "Lightbulb moments"shared in the 32 page thread upon my first trip to Scotland in 1978.
3. You will be .... Years old on the ..... of March. (Sorry folks you have to find this gem in the thread yourself).

I don't remember the thread, but one of my biggest light bulb moments came from a post where Jock advised caution when looking to celebrity images for how the kilt is typically worn, since there's often a fair amount of theatricality where celebrities are concerned.

Not a light bulb, but a string of lights.
The many threads posted here have led to a better understanding/appreciation of highland dress, history and culture. To pick out one would be impossible for me. From how-to guides, to tartan weaving methods, to proper attire and accessories, it has all been quite enlightening. What impresses me most, however, is the general consensus here that we can agree to disagree on occasion and still celebrate what brought us to this forum originally—an interest in all things kilted.
