"at the very longest, the kilt should reach onlx the top of the knee cap."
i m sure u remember the opinion of "so you re going to wear the kilt" author j. charles thompson.
i think tradition is driven to get exagereted when we couple it with a few cm or half inches. kilts have been worn much shorter before and thats a thing of changing fashion. tradition should not be a dogma but let space for free tastes.
i have three kilts in this discribed lenght, but my other three kilts are coming to the middle of my knee and i like both. my last prchased kilt will be shortened also to mid knee, but i worrying, about pleating the bottom to the inside, because this tailormade has a selvedge without sewing and maybe this could change the swinging of the pleats??
i also ordered a utilikilt - is this one better mesured on the longer side?

and yes colin is it absolutely only a mental comfort, cause such fine things than half inch are only percepted by our kilt freaked minds, not by our physic. and i stopped about worrying to much about lenght before it drove me crazy
