Now Irish bars that want to really be like Irish bars should be smoke-free, because smoking has been banned in public buildings in Ireland for the past seven months. So a true Irish pub should be smoke-free. Happily, Massachusetts has also passed a smoking ban, so all pubs around here are smoke-free (the cities of Boston and Cambridge have been smoke-free for nearly two years, and the entire state passed it this summer).

Andrew, that's good news, the move to non-smoking venues is one of the few truly enlightening and progressive directions our cultures have achieved in the last 50 years.
