Agree, Donnie does excellent work, and price is very fair.

I have two Rob Roy style sporrans from Thorfin, they're prettymuch all I wear now, the roominess, phone pocket, changeable flaps, and key ring are so great.

And yeah, this is a Rob Roy sporran, not just for daywear..

Wow, Zardoz, I love the furry Thorfinn bag. I remember him posting one time that he was exploring some more formal designs, but that is truly striking.

Turpin's daughter told us she had his materials and designs and wished to continue doing them, both in his memory and because she
had enjoyed doing them with him. I have not had contact with her in a long time, but it might be possible she would do you one.
Someone offered a Ferguson Britt Rob Roy (last week?) for sale here recently. It would be very difficult to find one better made.
Lamar puts a great deal of time and care into his product; you'd be looking down on your grandkids wearing yours. Or, he'll work
with you on specific additions to standard.

This is my main day wear sporran, lots of room, not very heavy and I've installed a leather retaining strap inside it that my phone slips behind and is held in place against the back of the sporran.
If you are going to do it, do it in a kilt!

As previous posters have shown, the Rob Roy style sporran can come in many forms depending on materials used, the design, and execution. Here are three examples, ranging from simple to rather smart.

Tripleblessed,
That is good to hear about Turpin's daughter. She is right that it would be a fitting tribute. He was a sad loss to the whole kilting community.
It would be good to see those designs available again.
It's funny, when I look at my kit, which is less than 10 years old, I see that neither of my day sporrans nor my belt are available today. One sporran-maker is gone, the other does not offer the same style, and the belt-maker is out of business due to lack of time (although may start again at some point). Things change quickly.
