    Broken kilt pin

I found a kilt pin that I really liked with a bit of Jade and gold in the form of a sword. Was well secured to my apron, however, I did not consider that it might be fragile and its top popped off. Best guess, is shaking out the kilt to dry after being out in the rain was too stressful. I will probably stick with more robust pins in the future or at least give them a thought when packing my kilt away. Lesson learned. Shame I really liked that pin.

I am sorry to say that I feared something like that happening when you were floating the idea about the kilt pin, a wee while ago. I am so sorry.

    Pin Management

Yep, sad to see it go. As part of the process, I incorporated pin clutches into my management of pins. Almost lost one today because I did not think it would need the clutch. Some lessons are learned the hard way. Bad judgement gives experience and experience leads to better judgement.

I lost my favorite kilt pin when I sold one of my old kilts (Gordon of Esselmont 7yrd 16oz weight). I forgot to take out the pin when I hung up the kilt. Was a jeweled "grouse foot" in silver I got as a handmedown. I know I'm never going to see that one again.
