Congratulations on your decision to wear your kilt! I think it's terribly unfortunate that most kilts hang hidden away in closets. Now that yours has been liberated, I hope you'll share your experiences with us.

This is a fact! I'm 50+ and balding and I still get all kinds of complements from women. There was a joke floating around the board for a while that kiltmakers "sprinkle a little magic" on each kilt before shipping. Whatever it is, I got hooked!
...I can think of many things to discuss aboot kilts but there'll be plenty o' time for that later. Meanwhile, I am happy to be on board.
Thanks, - Alan
And we're glad to have you. Post some pictures in your personal gallery when you get a chance.

Hi Alan. Welcome to the group. Where in Washington are you? I'm just North of Vancouver USA myself but I do tend to wander about the state a bit since I have a daughter at Seattle University and I am one members of the current Washington state Harley Owners Group rally committee. Maybe our paths will cross.

Hi to everybody, I am brand new here having just discovered the site this evening. My name is Alan and I am originally from Dundee, Scotland but have been in the US for a long time. I had my first kilt around 9 years old, my second (a MacPherson) for my wedding to my first wife. And have wanted to get back to the kilt all my life; that is to wear it as a daily garment. This I am now doing for I am in a city in Washington State where it's extremely cosmopolitan. My present kilt had been hanging for years in the closet. Bought at a garage sale,it's homemade and miraculously it comes close to fitting me! It's a Black Watch Dress tartan. I had ordered another fae Scotland though in Sutherland muted simply because I like the colors. It should arrive in December. I feel really great to have returned to the kilt and reaction up to now has been great. It really does things to women I've discovered. That suits me just fine for that's the way that yours truly is inclined! I can think of many things to discuss aboot kilts but there'll be plenty o' time for that later. Meanwhile, I am happy to be on board.
Thanks, - Alan
