My Great-great-great-great-great grandfather Ludovic Macdonald was from Uig, Skye. His son Gray Macdonald moved to Staffin, Skye.

Gray's son, my Great-great-great grandfather John Gray Macdonald moved his family to Skye Glen, Nova Scotia.

My great grandfather Archibald George Macdonald moved from Nova Scotia to the U.S.

So, my first hand sewn wool is a Macdonald Lord of the Isles tartan from Kathy's Kilts.

"I'll have a kilt please, a nice hand sewn tartan, 16 ounce Strome. Oh, and a sporran on the side, with a strap please."

Leatherneck is a term given to United States Marines for the stiff leather stock colars that they used to wear to help maintain an upright posture.

In just over 24hours a total of 17 nominations from 297 views! I've heard of lurking, but this is of monumental proportions - surely there are not that many of us who do not feel affiliated to a tartan. Any thoughts guys?
