We're still over 100yds double width, we're well in the clear.

By my count we finished with 125yds double width!
Since the general consensus is for samples 1,3,6 (all with the muted accent colours) I will re-submit sample chips to Dalgliesh along with our order so to try for the nice muted balance and to avoid too harsh colours.
I'm filling out the yardage and contact info for everyone right now, will be shooting Dalgliesh an email in a while.

Hi info shows he was active 29JUNE, and the major announcements were on the 26/27th. Hopefully he'll chime in, I'd hate to have anyone left out.

Because I'm a "Measure Twice, Fret Endlessly, THEN Cut Once" kind of guy,
I've been re-hashing our colour selections, and I wanted to show everyone what my thoughts are. I also don't want any 'oopsies' with this much custom-woven tartan, so please humour me.
HERE are a few renditions that I've been hashing over based on the current thread colours (I fear the accent colours are too bright and the greens aren't quite dark enough)

So I did a big sample analysis, using many new colour chips and comparing our current selections some of the renditions.

I hope this is clear for everyone.
I've drawn lines to colours which closely match either our current thread examples, or the original "ideal" from when the tartan was generated.
I've also built a composite out of colour scans from the chips that most closely resemble the original colours (it's on the lower left).
What are everyone's thoughts on these colours when compared to the original accents/body colours?
Are we afraid of the tartan being TOO dark? Too muted? Do we like the original colours? Am I fretting needlessly? I just don't want a tartan that is WILDLY different in feel from the original concept.

Well the only thing that would change for me would be the name -

Seems to me that the overall color scheme is dark, almost black. 2 and 3 are much too green to me, and 4 is sooo, ....purple. 1,5 and 6 look great to me. I can see is tartan looking pretty dark indoors with the colors only coming out in bright sunlight or strong indoor lighting. But even 2 is still a cool tartan and I would be proud to wear it.
Besides, these are TARTANS, bright clashing colors are routine

I rank them as follows: 1/6, 5, 2, 3, 4. The increased green in 2 really tones down the purple.

If you could adequately match #3 or #6 with the yard and color chip samples you've received, I would be very happy.
From here, though, I shall use a Japanese expression: "o-makase-shimasu." It means: I shall entrust the remaining details to your capable hands.
