Was out and about kilted today, nothing but compliments and envious looks from non kilted males. It's great to be alive.

Today, I wore my USAK casual kilt in Malcolm tartan to work. Had to check on contractors’ work in paving our roads and replacing concrete sidewalks. Earlier even seeded the bank by one of coves on the lake. Quite a sight I sure.

After work, I meet up with fellow XMarker Mark Ellis at our local brewery; The Blue & Gray which was kicking off their Oktoberfest. One of the lasses from the local pipe band found me in the beer tent. Later at the bar, a lady and her husband in town for a wedding inquired about my tartan.

    A good day!

No pics today. I wore the ancient campbell 5 yard from USA Kilts, a highland green jacket, blue wool tie, hand crafted, copper and brass buckle and kilt pin from Tyger Forge, blue hose. A most extraordinary day in Northern Virginia.

The past two days, I had the privilege of attending a state required radiation safety course for veterinary health care workers. Of course, on Friday I attended kilted. And as the instructor was wearing shorts, I did not seem that out of place. I did receive several compliments from the staff of the local Chamber of Commerce, who were allowing us to use their meeting room for our class. The only comment received from a classmate was from one gentleman of my age, who said a friend of his also wore kilts, and he couldn't understand why. I suggested that he give it a try, as he might then understand why we would choose to wear the kilt.

Sorry, no pics. My camera batteries were dead, and none of my classmates thought I was special enough to photograph.

Looks great. Nice and simple - clean. I am a big fan of the "un-tassled", plain front, sporran and leather sporran strap look. I'm also becoming a fan of the sweater vest/tie look too.

At at a family wedding on Friday. Only person in a kilt, and, apart from the bride and groom, no-one was expecting it. Great fun!

The weather has cooled and feeling comfy today, in my Newsome single box pleat in XMarkstheScot.com tartan. In discussing a possible fire hydrant violation this AM at my workplace with the Fire Chief he asked about the kilt. I told him about Kilted Fridays.

A funny thing happened on Wednesday. The Scottish Society was having its monthly meeting that evening so I went to work kilted. At the community where I work I had ordered a custom bike rack to be made locally. When the artisan met me when I ordered the bike rack I was kilted, too. He delivered the bike rack on Wednesday assisted by his brother.

On his way here he told his brother about the kilted guy at this place where they were taking the bike rack. His brother commented that he works with a kilted guy at Walmart. What does he look like? Yep, he said I think its the same guy. It was! Me!

Co-worker and I at our annual office golf/team-building day yesterday. T'was a day early to be sure, but there were no complaints. Photo cropped to protect the innocent.

No adventures really, but did wear the wool Black Watch most of the day including out to get the car smogged. No real notice paid by most, but one older woman in her 70s did give me some sort of "look" in the waiting room while the car was being tested. Not admiration, not disapproval, perhaps slight amusement.

Later I put on the PV heritage of Scotland for around the house errands and grilling. A fine Friday it has been.
