I my part of the kilted world most of the women I see in this manner of dress are female pipers. Unfortunately they are dressing as men (if you will) Now, in fairness most are in "uniform".
The classiest woman, by far, I saw in Couer d'Alene at the piping school. This lady is a competitive piper and has chosen to dress as a woman would when she competes solo. I do wish that I had photos. As a matter of fact she rarely even wears tartan. I don't think that any combination of plaid is required to dress with style and flair.
I admit I have not read all 34 pages of this thread but I am glad it's here and I will keep reading back to see what has been revealed.

May have already appeared in the thread but I don't remember seeing it (and am not about to search through!!)
Stone Phillips at Dressed to Kilt -- but check what his companions are wearing -- both great looks IMHO.

This would be a fun and easy sewing project for just about anyone, in whatever tartan appeals....

Wel, I don't recognize the tartan, but the idea of a short-waisted jacket in tartan....hmmm. Just don't stand around, looking like this model!
You can tell I have "help desk in the lobby" duty right now...and nobody is coming by the table.

Rex, I asked my wife about that, and she confirms that the rumor is true, and she used to secretly post there all the time, before our kids grew up & left home, and that's why to this day a big, ugly bruiser like me still gets flirted with by "strange women" in bars.
Then she told me to quit goofing off & take out the trash.
