To the west of the Kirk there was this Celtic Cross.
Finishing our tour of this unique church we leave for Oban.

Day 10 – Oban
We headed to Oban for lunch. The restaurant had its own brewery where we dined. An excellent choice, Chris! We stopped in the Geoffrey (Tailors) kilt shop for a look around.
My only Oban pic was this kitty in the window!
I had visited Oban in 2004 with Donald and Heulwen. It’s a great town and definitely worth the visit.
Donald and I at the wharf.
Note the amphitheater, called McCaig’s Towerat the top of the knoll. It dominates the Oban’s skyline. It has an interesting story which you can read here .

Day 10 – Loch Scammerdale
The road from Oban back to Kilmartin took us by Loch Scammerdale.
If I were to say it was a beautiful loch, you could reply Mael, there isn’t an ugly loch in all of Scotland!
As I soaked in the beauty of it all, my mind wandered. Chris, commented, “Ern, you seem to be deep mediation.” Chris, I replied, I was thinking about work!
My fortnight holiday was coming to fast close I was thinking about Monday morning starting the daily grind. This had been my first vacation longer than a 4 day weekend in four years.
But there was more daylight to burn this day. A day in Glasgow and a weekend in France with Ancienne Alliance and Lady Crystal before that dreadful Monday would be here! A holiday in itself awaited before me!

Day 10 – Dunadd
As we went through Kilmartin and sped past Dunadd, I took these pix of the fortress hill of the Kings of Dalraida.

Ern, you certainly packed a lot into your 2 weeks in Scotland, it was my delight and pleasure to show you my part of the country, if only you had had more time, but then again, there is always next time my friend, Haste ye back, next time with your good lady.
