Tonight it will be Old Pulteney 12 year. I'm a newbie to scotch whisky, but have been happy to discover that I enjoy scotch more than a glass of wine or other cocktail. My husband has always been the scotch drinker in our house but now at least once or twice a week we each enjoy a wee dram, usually while watching an amazing New Mexico sunset. He likes peaty Islay whiskies. I don't yet know what I like best, but am certainly enjoying the process of learning to appreciate fine whisky.

You're in for a treat. Old Pulteney 12 is delicious! I also enjoy the peat monsters.

I agree, it's really good. Next on my shopping list when I'm ready for a new bottle, are Highland 12 year, then Glenmorangie Original. My husband's lobbying for Laphroig, which I'm sure we'll get to eventually.

I like Highland 12 and my wife (carolinanan117) really likes it. It's smoky without being too peaty. Glenmorangie Original is good (not one of my favorites). Definitely give Laphroig a try.

So, I worked up a thirst at Scottish Country dance class tonight and am enjoying a few wee drams of The Famous Grouse.

Balvenie 18 is in my decanter. When I get home tomorrow from Manhattan, I'm gonna take a sip.

Mentioned Dalmore 12 in an another post, couldn't get it off my mind, repaired to my little scotch bar to pour a dram, inadvertently grabbed the Dalmore 18, and with little regret nursed a dram while watching the funereal episode of "Hamish MacBeth", then followed it up with a dram of Glenmorangie 10 as a chaser. Goodnight moon.
I changed my signature. The old one was too ridiculous.

That's uncanny Mookien.
My brother was passing through on business and over-nighted with The Redhead and I. After supper I brushed the dust off the bottle of The Dalmore Cromartie and we each had a dram. Then followed it up with Glenmorangie 10.

Just back from a short visit to Normandy. Aside from the excellent farmhouse cider that abounds in that part of the world, I also managed the odd glass or two of calvados. A bottle made it back over the Channel with me and I've just sat down after a very busy day for a small aperitif before supper. Highly recommended

What a coincidence. Great minds indeed think alike. Though I don't recall thinking at the time.
