Gave her a little lesson on the origin of kilts. She apologized and said she loved my kilt. Kilt was USMC tartan with green hose and gray sweater. Plan to go out tonight with same friends - kilted of course. See how many heads I can turn here in Mississippi.
Ah Dusty, you are indeed enjoying your kilted adventures!

Pre Mardi Gras Party
My wife and I attended a pre-Mardi Gras, Mardi Gras party last night. I wear my kilt so often most of our friends pay no attention.
I got one, "I like your kilt" from someone I hadn't met before and a "nice skirt" from her husband. I'm never offended or irritated by that joke when it's offered in fun, but another friend corrected him very adamantly, telling him it's a kilt.
Posing here with a nice cigar nearly finished -
And here's the masks my wife and I wore. They came off ten minutes into the party -

So my alma mata, THE University of Virginia is # 1 seeded in East of the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament. So Today, I wore my team colors to work so no one could doubt who I was supporting. Afterward a long work day headed to the local, Park Lane Tavern to get charged for the game which is now starting against #16 seed Coastal Carolina. Go Hoos! Don't pull a Dukie!!!

Kilted at work, getting the coworkers acclimated. So far most folks are acting as if I'm wearing trousers like everyone else, and the few comments have been positive. Might leave at beer:30 so I can loiter with friends and a brew for a bit on the way home.

Not exactly "Kilted Friday", but the last day of Arizona Bike Week (which is on a Sunday), once we got to the destination that we were going to spend most of the day (a biker bar where my friends and I are regulars), I changed into my Utilikilt and cheap ($99) Pakistani horsehair sporran. Got alot of looks but no negative comments to my face. I figured as much. I've worn it to this particular bar previously.
If I do say so myself, the horsehair sporran doesn't look bad with the Utilikilt. I might even make it a regular accessory.
