Re: Kilted Fridays Adventures
My Alma Mata University of Virginia had a bye for the Quarter Finals of the ACC Basketball Tournament this Friday. When I attended, I definitely didn’t dress preppy (jeans guy), but for work today, I dressed the preppy part including an orange & navy blue stripped bowtie. Kaki kilt is a Buzz Kidder, Artificer sporran and belts.
Took the afternoon off to watch the game; lost to NC State. Least I looked good!

Hah- That's an awesome outfit, Ern!
If I wore that very same thing, I'd look ridiculous, but with your swag, if comes off perfectly! You look like a professor.

Once again, I work for a company that can be dangerous, so safety clothes are mandatory. Let's face it, I would rather go home safe than look good. Now:

I am envious of you, XMarkers that have official State tartans.
One day, I may have to pursue this for the Old Dominion State.......
Mael (If I may call you Mael) I thought the state tartan was a combination of Chicago Maroon and Burnt Orange?

VA Tech does have a tartan, but it is not the State (Commonwealth) tartan.

I wish I worked in an office so that I could enjoy Kilted Fridays. No loose clothing allowed on the Railroad.

So this Kilted Friday, a real estate agent and a couple who are prospective buyers of one of the homes come into the office. I stand up from my chair to greet them and the ladies give the 'ooos and awes'. The Hendersons have arrived and they approve of the kilted administrator!

Kilted Friday Not
To commemorate this day in Scottish history 16 April 1746 the Battle of Culloden, I have donned my USAK semi-trad in Stewart Black. My ancestors would have support each side; mother’s Robertson – the Bonnie Prince and father’s Malcolm MacCallum the government.
A toast after work to the fallen Highlanders of both sides will be held at Park Lane Tavern.
A record breaking hot weather day is predicted but I am feeling cool in my PV kilt, cotton kilt hose and polo shirt.
