I misremembered this post so badly...
...today's chain of events was completely contrary to plan, and I ended up jumping the gun. I showed up early (5:15-ish) and the shop was closed. Went to the Wawa, got myself some shepherd's pie (Mmmmm) and sat in the parking lot until about 6:10 or so. Called home to ask for a double check of the forum thinking maybe was it supposed to be saturday night? But no one was home. Didn't have your cell on me. Baaaaah. I royally screwed this.
But on the upside I spent some bonding time with The New Hotness, just picked up today...

Wow, kilted and a Dubber! Check out VWvortex.com. The ultimate VW discussion board. I have a '98 Jetta GLX. Don't want a later model because I like boxy looking cars. Plus, I've modded the hell out of it (european spec headlights, rain sensitive wipers, auto dimming mirrors, head up display, and about a dozen other mods)
Anyways, I got there about 7:30, didn't recognize anybody, the place was godawful loud, crowded, and tough to get to the bar for a beer, all the things I hate about going out. They were trying to do justice to Robbie with recitals of his poems (delivered by a kilted gentleman standing on the bar!), bagpipe music, but the crowd would simply NOT quiet down. Someone behind the bar kept shouting for everybody quiet down a bit, but was completely ignored. The noise actually muffled the pipes!
I bailed. I'd prefer a Burns night with a little more decorum and structure. That place was bedlam. I went home. Watched the new version of Galactica (which totally ROCKED!).

Huntsman...
I didn't see you there! Where were you at in the bar? Kelly and Jeremy and 3 other customers and I were rightin front of the pipers and the band! You should have come over!
BTW... That drunken Scot standing on the bar is Ian from the Celtic shop in Pottstown. I had met him last night for the first time. He's a great guy.

I'll PM you about the VW stuff.
Sounds like my idea of a good time. Shame I screwed up my schedule.
Next friday night they are doing a burns night that should be much more structured.

I swear I still have a wee bit of a headache from Fri. night. Yes, the place was sheer bedlam, I'm not sure that I'll be up for doing a Burns night there again.
After seeing the Shanty's at Brittinghams, I rolled over to the Bent Elbo to check out the end of Blackthorn's set, and then to a place up by me. LOOONG night. Gotta do it again, soon.
