Thanks, I love it, and will love it more once I get the pleats unfastened for an inch and a half. It is just a little stiff. That's probably due in part to sizing used to make the weaving easier. I am almost certain that the material is heavier than the 13oz specified. In fact, I'd have to say it is closer to 16oz. I could be wrong, but I have several other wool kilts of known weight to compare it to.

Yes, I'd say the cloth weight does look to be quite a bit heftier than 13oz. As I said, judging by your photos, it hangs like a regulation Military Kilt, which we all know is between 16 and 22 oz.

I bought this kilt with the full possiblility that I will need to tweek it with minor adjustments to get an optimal, near bespoke fit. Even if I have to take it partially apart to do so, it is still a fantastic deal for what I anticipate will be a fully acceptable quality kilt. I wish it was pleated to the line (my preference when possible) but this is a minor thing, and I'm sure many will be happy that it IS pleated to the sett.

I have a $500.00 plus custom Scottish Kilt in one of my Clan Tartans, some I've made myself in both 16oz wool and 12/13oz cotton tartan, and vintage Military Kilts. But I don't want to lay out another $400.00 or more for an everyday wear BlackWatch Kilt.

These new Marino wool Heavyweights Stillwater is offering look like they will be a big winner for all concerned. I'll give a review when it arrives. Cheers.
