At this late stage - warmest New Year Greetings and hugs to the kilted, the occasionally kilted and the soon to be kilted the world over. May 2006 be the year you do it!!! ;)
I too watched the London/Edinburgh celebrations on BBC TV last night (too much London and not enough Edinburgh in my opinion, but I am biased). As has been mentioned, there were a few kilts to be seen (and the Pipers of the Scots Guards were over on BBC2 for Auld Lang Syne at the same instant). The London fireworks were absolutely stunning however; the best I have ever seen on TV. We always used to get an hour or two of Scottish song and dance on BBC TV with loads of kilts in evidence but now it's mainly Top-of-the-Pops/Rock - type 'noise' on all channels ..... or old films without any acknowledgement of the magical midnight hour!!
