Yes I'm in Kingston upon Thames, the outer edge of London just.
Very new to kilt wearing but more than happy in it, wearing as often as I can.
Of course the bug is setting in and I want to get another ... and so on, but you know about that I am sure.
Caught myself in my favourite fabric shop in Soho, checking out the tweeds and the wools.. but resisted but for how long... who knows!

I am SO sorry! Here's clever old me getting my Kingstons confused with my Richmonds (well, it was typed at a quarter to one AM this morning!) Again, my apologies.

Fabric shop in Soho? That sounds to me very much like Borovicks In Berwick Street. I've known that shop since the late 1950s, but it is now only a fraction of the size it used to be. It is used by many of the theatrical costumiers since it is in the heart of 'theatreland'.

Perhaps you'd like to meet up in London sometime? I often go up there to greet kilted brethren from across the globe as they pass through and to meet with Howie of "21st Century Kilts" once every six weeks or so (in fact, I'm seeing him there this Saturday). In fact, it is almost time we held another 'Kilts Day' in central London!!

Hamish, and others! yes it would be lovely to meet up in london, whenever!
It wasn't boroviks I meant, it was "The Cloth House" in soho.I have used Boroviks many many times, great choice of really outrageous fabrics,I ususally put up with the "enthusiatic" service, but thankfully there are other shops to offer a little competition!!

It's just an idea at this stage, Derek. We've done it before, several times, and was great fun. Everyone meeting at a central location at a given time, then wandering off for lunch somewhere before taking in the sights, and posing for our own photo shoots in well-known locations (and with inquisitive tourists!).

I suggest we leave it until the weather settles down or, at least, warms up!
