    Kilted Brothers,

I appreciate the thoughts, opinions, and advice. I will be working on my Bride an see if I can win her cooperation on this project.

    Cheers to all,

I was looking around today and found this, for the price of a rental or just a little over you could get one of these:

Also, don't forget that 'formal" in a kilt can also mean a Jacobite shirt and a Potain or "Swordsmans" jacket.

And it SO HAPPENS that Kiltmart has a mess of "swordsmans"' jackets on ebay right now. Leather is $150 and wool is $59.

fifty-nine lousy bucks....team that up with a jacobite sshirt and you're stylin'.

Huh? Since when? Those are about as formal as your best sneakers, and equally appropriate at a formal event.

Well, for example, see Pour1Malts wedding pictures, in Scotland.

However, it's a good point, obvously there's a divergence of opinion, here...time for a new thread!

While the shawl collar in itself is probably fine, my bigger aversion to the ones on uniformal are that they are tailored to be buttoned.
Which on me looks like it's tailored to be worn unbuttoned with a chain, mess-dress style.

I've seen folks get married in Hawaiian shirts, too; that doesn't imply that Hawaiian shirts are appropriate formal wear.

I think it's fine. What you end up with is something more like the Irish Brian Baru jacket instead of a PC, but it's equally as formal.
I like that! Now I know what I'm shooting for for my November formal dinner!

This is a PC conversion with a shawl collar.

Ok, so are there any pics of the back of a Prince Charlie jacket. The front looks like an fairly easy mod. What's the back look like?
