    A small aside on the design. I don't want to bombard you folks with design theory but all the components of the clasp and sporran are based on the Golden Mean. It's sacred geometry that's utilised in nature, the Pantheon and some of the Egyptian pyramids to name some.
    One definition of the golden mean is: Draw a finite line. Divide it so that the shorter line is to the longer, as the longer line is to the whole.
    I've applied this to the relation of the curves, both on the "front on" plane and the "sideways" plane (on the clasp only for this perspective).

    there are lots of ways of constructing the golden section/mean.. I like the one where a square is drawn and then the diagonal line from the bottom to opposite top corner is dropped to the horizontal... the different lengths give you the two lengths. but for those of a less practical nature , it's actually about 1:1.618.
    I have used this measurement for many of my books or tiles or pots, it seems a very comftoatble arrangement to the eye
