Hey, c'mon,... she said it was not the kilt, but the socks, that was the deciding factor.
What is a traditionalist? In my observations, he or she is one who has picked a certain time frame or chosen a certain "look" and decides to stay in that particular niche; it defines his or her "persona." We pick our traditions, much like we pick our professions.
Let's see... there is the traditional great kilt, the traditional little kilt, the traditional hunting (read: early camo) tartans, the traditional tailored kilt (in knife, box, kinguisse, mil box, etc.), the traditional Utilikilt, the new tradition of "high fashion" kilts, the traditional ceremonial dress of the native americans of the southwest, and on and on. Which tradition do we choose today? tomorrow?
Whew! How's that for a sudden shift from playfulness to brain-deadening philosophy?

He seems to think that no flesh should show between kilt & hose, which is absolutely ludicrous.

Agreed. I left some comments. We'll see if they get posted.

I remember reading somewhere that the Great Kilt was worn so high up on the thigh that if you wore them in modern society ....well....you'd probably be goin to jail. Someone else may now more about that than I do I aint no expert but I think you're right the owner needs to do a little research before condeming some of those people he has pics of.
