Derek,
I guess there must be a lot of 'cilted wardrobes' in Wales.
Best regards to Elaine and yourself,

In regard to the younger set and their baggy pants. I have a neighbor whose teenage son like to wear his pants very low. He started wearing them higher (at home, at least) when she threatened to pull them up and fasten them up permanently with a nail gun!

the Cilt in Wales
Perhaps it a matter of thresholds to be crossed. If enough eccentrics wear the cilt others will wear it too.

In school, all my friends wore what was "cool" at the time. Macs, banlons, and chucks. Like a uniform. I just could not get into that style. Jeans and Windsors. All through school. When I graduated, I wore just that to graduation. When I had my senior picture taken for the yearbook, I was wearing a tweed jacket over, yes, jeans and a windsor. Our school was divided between the freasks and the greasers. I did not fit into either group. Made my own group and got along with all. Well, most. I started wearing a kilt because I wanted to. Not to be part of any group or to rebel against another. Never did worry about what anyone else thought. Still don't. Wear your kilt.
