    Bubba,

That's just cold. Not that I didn't do similar in my youth when it came to difficulties. I had the same gripe about the rules when my son started school. I told him defend himself and let me worry about the school. Then again, I tend to be a little Old Testament in my outlook.

    Andrew,

It's been said before but it bears repeating, carry yourself with confidence and an attitude of being above the petty snide remarks and you'll make quite the impression on all present. I know that can be tough at any age but strength of character will prove out. Conduct yourself as a gentleman towards the girls along with attention to detail in your dress with the kilt and you'll soon likely have more female attention than you can easily deal with. Take care and enjoy the ride.

    YMOS,
    Tony

It might be cold, but one thing I've learned in a misspent life is never start trouble but if someone else starts it end it fast and as dirty as possible. It prevents repeats. They say never kick a man when he's down, but what better time is there to kick him?

Andrew, first of all a belated welcome from the Scottish Borders to the forum. The idiot who called you a ****** got what he deserved but its a pity you had to degrade yourself to his level to deliver it; it would have been better if he had been punished by a teacher, rather than you getting yourself into trouble. I think his problem really is jealousy because he doesn't have the courage to wear a kilt himself. Its great to hear of modern teeenagers like yourself choosing to wear the kilt and be a real man. Continue to wear your kilt with pride. You will never walk alone.

Him: hey are your a ******, or something?
The appropriate response to that is always, "What do you have in mind?"

I would almost agree with the others in this post... Just be proud of who you are and let the bully talk his trash... If he doesn't intimidate you and get you to change your behavior, he knows he can't bully you and will move on to weaker prey. Of course, being a bully, you shouldn't have too much trouble with him now that you've broken his nose. Exude strength and confidence and bullies will pass on by, even if you decide to wear a pink tutu to class.

Besides, I have learned one very important lesson in life... if you really think about it, there is less and less to be violent about than one might first think. Don't get me wrong... If some one is hurting my family, especially my wife or our soon to be born child... I will react with extreme prejudice and deadly force... But that's about the only thing to get me to fight:

You want my car? Sure... it's insured. You want my wallet? Okay, I don't carry cash and I can cancel those credit/debit cards in about 5 minutes... You want to push my wife around? I hope you can hold your intestines in while the EMT's rush you to the hospital...

Words can hurt, but only if you care about the person's opinion... If you don't think the guys a moron... let him talk, it's not going to hurt you.

Folks, if you look at the first post you'll notice it is over 2 months old and andrew hasn't ever posted again. I think he's left the building.
