    Wow!!

Is this a great board or what!!??

You have lots of great advice, many choices.

I'm a great believer in pushing the envelope, culture bending and blending, doing what feels right for your gut.

Don't forget that denim jackets go well with tartan kilts...

Do let us know whatcha work out for yourself.

That was a couple I saw at the Estes Park games this year. Thought they looked very coordinated.

If you want a tartan kilt, get a tartan kilt.
But if you're not sure about shelling out a lot of money for a tank:

    1. Get a well-made 5 yard kilt,
    2. Get a box-pleated kilt,
    3. Make your own (personally, I wait for the 2nd or 3rd kilt to do this, so you can reverse engineer as necessary),
    4. Order a 8 yard PV from MacHummel at Canadian Casual Kilts (tank-like looks but easy to clean and half the price), or
    5. eBay [find something that looks good, post it here - someone can tell if it's a good deal or not, and most of us are gentlemen enough not to compete with you for it (not for your first tartan kilt, anyway)]

I consider myself a traditionalist (in that I prefer tartan trads to contemps), and I'll add my voice to the chorus and say go for it. Get what you like and wear it with pride. A tank would certainly be nice and warm in the upcoming PEI winter breezes.
