I have modified Belt Buckles with a wider wire loop for wide leather with Heavy duty coat hanger wire. Works Fine. Takes abot 15 min just remove the old loop and bend the coat hanger wire to the required shape and insert in to the back of the buckle. Or get one of those nice tool belts from sears which are heavy leather dye it whe required color and you are set.

The solution is quite simple. Do what I did: become old and develop a paunch that will keep the kilt hanging far in front of anything else on your body.

Great advice; I did it as soon as I'd read your reply, and it's working great on the wider belt! Thanks!

I always wear a sporran, however I will push it to the hip if I am doing something where it will get in the way.
