I have two UK's and a sport kilt.
I think of the sport kilt as my "summer" kilt or the one I'll wear if I have to spend all day sitting down.
Also, if I have to go semi-formal, I'll wear the sport kilt just because it looks better with a dress shirt.
The Sport Kilt has one pocket. A wallet-sided pocket on the inside of the apron. I've put a six pack in the pockets of my UK.
If, for some reason you are considering the ACU pattern Sport Kilt, the ACU pattern in their photos are sideways.
Both are damn fine kilts. Pick the easy route and get one of each.

Material comes "sideways" on cloth. Luckily for tartan and solids, it doesn't matter. Hpwever, if you want a pin stripe or a camo pattern, it's not ideal. If you want the pin stripe to go vertical, you have to cut and splice each kilt about 3 or 4 times (to make an 8 yarder). For Camo, not many people notice (and it's really is a pain in the butt), so most camo kiltmakers just make the kilt with the pattern sideways.

The regularities in the ACU pattern aren't really obvious until you look at them for a while. Most people probably won't notice if they don't read me saying it's so.

I only saw one mention of Amerikilt here in this thread but I would heartly suggest them as an alternative to UK or Sportkilt. They are a very nice casual kilt, good weight fabric, good price and I really like the sporan. I wore my OD AmeriKilt during most of my cruise vacation last fall and loved it.
